Behind the Scenes: Boudoir on Film | Branding for Photographers

November 12, 2014

Happy Hump Day everyone! I thought it would be fun to show a little bit of what goes into the process of creating a brand identity, so I’ll be kicking off a regular Behind The Scenes series here on the blog today with Boudoir on Film! Boudoir photographer Danielle Fletcher asked me to create a unique brand identity for her blog, Boudoir on Film. She wanted something that matched the sexy, raw style of her photography, and gave off a high-end feeling while still having a personal vibe to it.

After chatting with Danielle about her styles and her goals for the blog, I created this inspiration board to help guide us visually as we went through the process.

From there, I presented Danielle with three logo concepts based on our in-depth discussions and the inspiration board.

Danielle loved Concept 3, but thought it was too horizontally oriented, I combined the typeface of Concept 3 with the stacking design of Concept 2, and we ended up with the final logo!

Ta-da, a fabulous new brand was born! Sounds a lot easier than it was, but Danielle has been using her new brand for over a year now, with great results! Her previous brand did not match her style or personality, and the new brand reflects who she is as an artist in a way that is attracting more high-end clients, and more clients who identify with and love the type of work she does. If you’ve never seen Danielle’s work, please check it out, it is incredibly inspiring and beautiful!
